Mandible (the "App") is operated by Lunaire Labs LLC ("Lunaire Labs," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to your use of the Mandible mobile app and related services. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

Account information. You create your account using Sign in with Apple. We receive your name, an email address (which may be an Apple private-relay address if you choose to hide your email), and a unique Apple user identifier. We use this to create, secure, and restore your account. We never receive your Apple password.

Health and wellness information. To personalize your program and track your progress, we collect information you choose to provide, such as your date of birth, TMJ-related symptoms, pain levels, symptom frequency and duration, known triggers, your goals, your journal entries, and the exercises, modules, and audio sessions you complete. Because this can reveal information about your health, we treat it as sensitive.

Subscription information. If you purchase a subscription, Apple processes your payment, and we do not receive or store your full payment card details. Through our subscription provider, RevenueCat, we receive your subscription status, purchase history, and an app-specific user identifier so we can unlock and restore the features you paid for.

Usage and device information. We collect limited technical information, such as your device type, operating system version, and app version, to operate the App, provide support, and fix problems.

No advertising or analytics tracking. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Account Sync and Restoring Your Data

Your account and progress are stored in the cloud so they are not lost if you change, reset, or reinstall the App on a device. When you sign in with Apple on a new device, we restore your saved data — your program progress, journal entries, and achievements — to that device. A copy of some data is also cached locally on your device so the App runs smoothly. If you have an active subscription, you can restore it from within the App.

How We Store and Protect Your Information

Your account and program data are stored on secure cloud infrastructure provided by Supabase. Some data is also stored locally on your device. We protect information in transit using encryption, limit access to authorized personnel and service providers, and apply other industry-standard safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Health Information

Mandible is a wellness and educational app, not a healthcare provider. We are not a "covered entity" under the U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), so the information in the App is generally not "protected health information" under that law. We nonetheless treat your health-related information as sensitive: we do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising. The App does not provide medical advice — please see our Terms of Service.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your health information for advertising or marketing. We share information only: with the service providers listed above who process it on our behalf; when required by law or valid legal process; to protect the rights, safety, or security of our users, the public, or Lunaire Labs; or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition, subject to this Policy.

Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can:

California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you may request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, request that we delete or correct it, and exercise these rights as described above. We do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not knowingly process the personal information of users under 18 for those purposes. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with proof of authorization.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion requires two confirmations and is permanent. When you confirm, we delete your progress, journal entries, achievements, and account record from our active systems, and this cannot be undone. We may retain limited information where required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Apple separately retains records relating to your subscription and purchases.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. When you delete your account, we delete your associated personal data as described above, except where we are required to retain it to meet a legal obligation.

Notifications

With your permission, the App sends reminders to support your daily routine. You can turn notifications on or off at any time within the App or in your device settings.

Children's Privacy

The App is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

International Users

We operate in the United States, and your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws than your own. By using the App, you consent to this transfer. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the App and revise the date above, and we may notify you of significant changes by email or in-app. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
